A founding partner of Energy Spectrum 27 years ago, Mr. Spann served as Chief Investment Officer for the first four Funds and was responsible for guiding the firms midstream energy investment strategy during that period. He has served on the Investment Committees for all eight Funds since inception. Mr. Spann also served as Chief Compliance Officer of ESP Investment Advisors LLC, an Energy Spectrum affiliate, for the last 13 years and remains as Deputy CCO on the expanded compliance team. While CCO, Mr. Spann was instrumental in developing the initial compliance policies and procedures for the firm and successfully filing with the SEC for the firm to become a registered investment adviser. Mr. Spann has over 45 years of experience financing oil and gas companies and managing private equity investments in the energy industry. Prior to forming Energy Spectrum, Mr. Spann served as a Managing Director of CIGNA Private Securities, where he specialized in energy and petrochemical financings and investments. Mr. Spann received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with highest honors from Syracuse University’s School of Management and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut.
